EASA Part-MED · Member States

Aviation medicine in Europe, from the organisations' side

Factual guidance on the EASA Part-MED regulation as applied in the Member States: medical certificates, stakeholders, cooperation between authorities and aeromedical centre compliance.

Key points of the European framework

A common framework, national authorities

Medical requirements for pilots are set out in Annex IV (Part-MED) to Regulation (EU) No 1178/2011 on aircrew. They are supplemented by Acceptable Means of Compliance (AMC) and Guidance Material (GM) published by EASA.

Implementation — approval of centres, certification of examiners, oversight, assessment of referred cases — is the responsibility of each Member State's competent authority.

Who this portal is for

med4sky.eu is primarily for organisations: aeromedical centres, examiners, authority medical sections and compliance managers. Content stays general and always refers to official texts and websites.

Frequently asked questions
